As for the smoking deal on that Helmet... you should have gotten 2...

I belong to a guitar forum with the same format (freespeechguitar)
that only has 20 members. I wish that the "Creator"
would open it to the public, but he set it up
as by invitation only (max 50 members).

I checked out a couple other HD forums 1st,
then hit this one, and liked it.

And the helmet is being used! I almost hung it up
because it was too tight. But did some mods,
including carving out some foam in forehead area.
Went and got a smoked face shield for it. Working good!

About the helmet, I had to do the same. Made some "custom" mods to the fit. I had to rasp out the forehead and then add some foam sheet padding to the top (dome). Took a while to get right, but well worth it - now it fits perfectly. (Your helmet) I always liked that style helmet, the face shield is a good idea. I have to ask, do you feel a difference in how much drag is reduced with the face shield in place?

I tried a full face - modular helmet, at first I didn't like it. Now I love it. Took a while to get used to the closed in feeling but on one very hot ride through the desert convinced me that it is -for me- the only way to go. It is actually cooler inside that helmet with the mask closed than with it open... The venting works great.

The pic of the original factory bike is a good comparison to what you have now. Shows what imagination can transform a standard bike into.

Also nice to see some new posts - thanks for sticking around. Seems that the other HD forums are more social clubs than this one. Here you get information exchanges that help.

The shield doesn't completely block all the wind. On the sides there's about a 1 inch
gap. But it's ok. At least keeps sun off the face, and blocks some wind.
I haven't really noticed draft problem.

I was SO happy, to get that one to work.
I tried a Shoei "convertible" helmet. It fit closer
than the others. But was $500+

AS far as other forums. Didn't actually jump into any.
This one looked like a good fit.

It actually looks really nice
even before they did anything to it.
But that's what they do. They like to trick 'em out.

I can see the visual changes - did they do any mechanical upgrades?

to show off his seat - Tuffside.

The previous owner probably laid it down.
That's probably why he changed exhaust, air filter...
I notice a slight tweak in the bars.
That probably helped me get a sweet deal...

I have an e-mail in to Chappell asking if he did
anything other than cosmetic. I'll let you know.
