This past month from July 20th until now has flown by as has the summer riding season. The season started off a little off its usual mark. Such rain to have caused roads to flood out and destroyed(ours is finally getting back to even better then before. Retarred the old girl even). Then crap shit opressively hot ass weather which is unusual for up here, consequituive 90 plus days. We never usually need an A/C. I keep one in the bedroom just for emergency.
Then from July 20th to about the August 18th the weather was perfect...mid 70's,sllight breeze and blue skies. Cool upper 50's in the morning...we had our grandboys..not to much riding except shorts jaunts around the upper valley area.
It sucked bringing him home. Instead of meeting half way I drove down to Goldsboro,NC and back in 2 days and one nite. Freaken insane traffic of epic disgust are you kidding me. I wanted to shoot myself in the head being stuck in front of the George Washington bridge for 60 minutes and not moving...even worse on the NJTPK,DC, Baltimore any other major city of any size. WTF!!!. It took 18 hours to go 12 hours on the way down. I dropped him off at his moms and just got right back on the I-95 North ribbon non stop on the red eye express. Being as it was 8pm when I left NC to head back, I made it in 12 hours like I'm suppose to. Slight to light traffic all the way home..70 MPH all the way. Saw a couple 2 wheeled HD jammers rocking the interstate and its traffic. Saw even more pulled over because of the heat and the parking lot like traffic too. I ran about 21-22 hours non stop..easy to do in a truck.
In all this mess and mayhem I had to put my buddy Nia (dog)down when I got back. She'd been diagnosed with cushing and cancer a couple weeks before. We were trying to enable the eating part and some anti nausea medication and steroid shots. She was 12 years old and I wasn't spending $300 for an ultra sound or $150 for xrays or $350+ for monthly treatment and no guarantees. You cannot buy life. I'll post some pictures when I get a breathing moment because even work has been off the chart crazy too.
Hope all is well in HD Riders forum world....
Also while I knew I wasn't gonna be riding I had my bike in the shop for warranty work..the front end wobble came back, the front tire was defective tread(got a new one) and there was a rattling coming from the shift linkage. Also the front fork lock was/isn't locking. It still isn't..waiting on a new ignition. So basically I'm ready to get my 2 wheeled mojo on on my days off, hell the grass isn't growing as fast any more either.

As a long time family man I tend to lean towards that as a priority more so than any other thing I enjoy.
