We went on a ride Sunday to Borrego Springs, CA and then on through Julian, CA. The ride took us through the desert and some foot hills in the vicinity of the Salton Sea, CA. Nice group of folks they like to ride at a decent pace so no one gets bored. Lots of fun here's some pics of the ride. Door to door - 324 miles.
There are these amazing steel sculptures out in the desert we stopped and got our pic taken.

Thanks for sharing the pics RK. The dragon in the desert is cool.
My pleasure!! The sculptures were pretty f'n cool to say the least. There are dozens of them scattered throughout a 5 mile stretch out there - and miles later there are giant sculpture horses posed like they're jumping over the road from hill to hill. I saw some really interesting ones - all of them are large scale - 15-20 feet tall. They look small from a distance but they are really huge - larger than life. Well maybe life size for the dragon - does one really know how big a dragon is? There were dinosaurs of all types - elephants, camels, insects: scorpions & ants, some really unique stuff. My passenger is afraid to take pics as we ride so we only have the ones with the dragon. The sculptures are usually a distance off the road and the sand is impassable with my bike - it just sinks in. So posing with them is a parking and walking proposition that gets time consuming and it was in the 90's so walking in gear was an overheating problem. I'm planning on going again the area is really spectacular.

RK...happy for you that you could find a hot chick to tool around with you(you stuill got the magic, lol). Makes the ride better I think?
Thanks BI, yeah she's got a great set of "backrests"... I think you're right - having someone to share the sights and ride with is a good thing. I'm 50/50 on it being better though - sometimes its way more fun to hit a twisty road solo - but the lunch break is nicer with her - she buys!!
